Matt

The first car I bought was a 4wd, it was a brand new Suzuki Sierra 1L. That was back in 1982. Have driven a Hilux after that, then another Suzuki, then a Jeep Renegade and have had my current Vehicle, a 1984 V8 Land Rover 110 truck cab since 1995 and it's still going strong.
I have been a member of the Land Rover Owners Club of Australia (Sydney Branch) for 15 years, 12 of them on the committee, 4 of them as president.
I have travelled extensively throughout the eastern half of Australia over the last 33 years and will probably keep going until I cark it.

Sydney to Nyngan OLRHD2016 17/06/2016 5:45:30 pm

674.8 km

The Outback Land Rover Heritage Drive has been run every two years since 2010. Organised by members of the LRC ACT, the concept was designed to get the older Land Rovers out of the shed and on the dirt, doing what they do best.
This is the fourth trip, this time taking in some of outback Queensland, starting and finishing at Bourke.
43 cars (38 Land Rovers) carrying 65 people for 12 glorious days in the outback.

We (the LROC, ) ,did some work with the NPWS in Canobla Gap near Glen Davis. this wonderfully quiet place is hidden away behind a load of locked gates in Wollemi national Park. Unfortunately as the LROC is no longer affiliated with 4wdNSW&ACT, we wont be able to continue this long association with the NPWS as without the 4wd association, we no longer fall under the MOU between the two organisations. :(
