All tracks are done in a 120 Prado (not towing), which has handled it flawlessly. Most trips are done in a limited time-frame, so I like to get a move-on. Your mileage may vary.

Charleville to Hivesville

608.2 km

110km/h driving for most of the Warrego Hwy. Great bakery in Mitchell. Fuel was cheaper at Charleville United than any other place on the whole trip! Dulacca between Roma and Miles is also cheap.

Birdsville to Charleville

836.1 km

250km of dirt heading east from Birdsville. Stony but in good condition mostly. Plenty wide enough. Some crests have bitumen. Make sure you have enough fuel to get from Birdsville to Windorah. I cut it very close! Fuel much cheaper in Charleville.

French Line to QAA

153.3 km

Hardest part of the French Line was between Knoll's Track and Poeppel Corner. Soft sand crests often with turns as you climb. Plenty of interdune sand in most sections. It doesn't let up!

Mt Dare to French Line Camp

227.0 km

Very rough road south from Mt Dare. Took the Bloods Creek Homestead detour and the road was much better.

Ayers Rock Resort to Mt Dare (via Lambert Centre)

587.1 km

Erldunda a much better place to stop than Kulgera. Track into Lambert Centre is a slow sand track. Road gets rougher the closer to Mt Dare you get.

Kings Canyon to Ayers Rock Resort

293.9 km

Good quality Bitumen Rd all the way. Mt Conner is a great warm up to Uluru. Burgers at Curtin Springs are good. Plenty of free camp opportunities with a view of Uluru before the road bends south to go into Yulara.

Glen Helen to Kings Canyon

236.0 km

Well worth the walk into Redbank Gorge. Very corrugated and rough on the sections that skirts the North edge of the Gardner Range. Amazing Landscape.

Alice Springs to Glen Helen

133.3 km

Forgot to start logging for a while. Good bitumen road. Reasonable condition dirt roads into the walks. Great atmosphere with live music most nights at Glen Helen, but camp sites are squeezy. Plenty of free camp opportunities in the area.

Tobermorey to Alice Springs

564.9 km

Plenty Hwy is a very rough road. Corrugations, bulldust, sudden dips, but nice and wide. Gradually improves as you get further west.

Longreach to Tobernorey

736.9 km

Single lane bitumen from Winton to Boulia. Make sure you stop at the lookout about half-way. Edges soft/boggy after rain. Dirt from Boulia to the Border was in great condition. Fill up at Winton as fuel is about 20c/L dearer in Boulia.
