4 Peaks Road

45.0 km

This road connects highway 87, and 188. The first mile or so is washboard, but after that it becomes softer dirt, with lots of minor ruts, and rocky areas. It is not a difficult road, but you need a higher clearance vehicle (a stock SUV or truck works fine). If you are taking this after it has rained 4wd may be necessary. The views are gorgeous, and there are plenty of places to camp near the peak. The lower section on the west side of the mountains gets lots of use from dirt bikes, atv's, and target shooters on the weekends.

Cherry to Jerome

63.4 km

This road brings you straight to Jerome from Cherry. The beginning is a dirt road that is fairly easy. Once you bear left at the intersection of FR413 and FR493 (past the "road closed 6miles ahead" sign the trail gets very tight, and rocky. There are a couple spots where boulders have fallen and make navigating the trail more difficult. My Silverado 1500 barely fit through the brush and around some of the boulders. I completed most of the trail in 2wd, only turning 4wd on for the last section past the road closed sign.
