ADVANCED RIDER TRAINING - SAND LOOP

216.2 km

MOTO TREKKIN
OFF- ROAD TRAINING L2 ADVANCED

You have purchased phase two “advanced” of a three phase rider development program.

On Sunday morning at 8.00am we will depart mount Seaview for Port Macquarie for an instructional loop ride to Crescent head and Kempsey before returning to Mount Seaview in time for lunch.

We make our way to Port Macquarie on the black top and over the Ferry, before finding some soft sand on the northern side of the town.

We will stop on the route adjacent to the beach to provide an explanation and demonstration of the correct sand riding techniques. At the completion of the demonstration we will continue riding back to Mount Seaview via Crescent Head and Kempsey. The return trip consists of dirt and tar and takes us past the iconic suspension bridge at Kindee. One of only a few remaining suspension bridges in this country. Cameras ready!

IMPORTANT
1. The Ferry crossing is $5 per rider for motorcycles which is included in your registration fee. If the riding group is separated, do not board the ferry. Wait on the side of the road at the ferry until all riders are preset. An instructor will pay for the Ferry Crossing as a group.

2. It is your responsibility to have this route installed on your phone and or to stay within sight of the person in front of you. You must also ride to ensure you can also see the person behind you at all times. We are a group and need to look out for each other.

3. Sand riding is difficult, physically demanding and extremely dangerous. If you feel you’re not ready to take on the sand after three demonstrations it’s okay to sit it out.

4. You will need a 3 litre hydro back pack with some hydralyte tablets in the water. We have these items for sale at the event on Friday evening. Don’t under estimate the amount of liquid you will need of the amount of energy you will burn.

5. It’s going to be hot so ensure you wear a vented jacket. If you would prefer to wear body armor under a jersey in preference to a heavy adventure jacket this is acceptable. If you’re wearing a heavier duty adventure jacket, open all the zips.

6. You will need good quality boots that are rigid and tough so to prevent your ankle from twisting or being crushed. Sand + heavy motorcycle = broken ankle. Get it sorted and don’t risk injury.

7. We also recommend that you take some form of sugar sustenance (snack) to boost your energy after the sand crossing. It will be physically demanding, and an energy boost may be helpful..

8. If you feel you are not yet “bike fit” enough, or have a medical condition that could be exacerbated by strenuous physical activity, please advise your instructors prior to departure.

9. It is your responsibility not to ride beyond your ability. If you feel an exercise is too difficult for your current skill level you must not attempt it.
